SlotCatalog has changed the way operators buy visibility on its affiliate site, switching its Affiliate Marketplace from fixed-price placement deals to a live bidding system with automated tracking of exposure.

The upgrade removes the manual negotiation that previously sat behind each booking. Partners can now see prices, place bids on positions and follow the status of their bookings directly on the platform.

More than 50 VIP partners are already using the new version. SlotCatalog said the next step is to open the Marketplace to independent third-party webmasters.

How the bidding works

Premium positions that have already been booked are not closed off. Another partner can take a slot by offering a higher price, which means placement costs move up or down in line with demand. The main mechanics are:

  • Bookings and their status update in real time
  • Partners receive an immediate alert when they are outbid
  • Every position carries an expected delivery benchmark, based on projected exposure and clicks drawn from real traffic and market data
  • Actual delivery is measured against that benchmark using click and conversion data from partners’ postback feeds

Where a placement falls short of its benchmark, the system flags it automatically. SlotCatalog’s affiliate management team then rebalances exposure or adjusts delivery for that partner.

What the company said

Fedir Havlovskyi, founder and executive manager at SlotCatalog, said the old approach did not scale with the size of the business. “As our partner network grew, managing placements through individual negotiations became less practical,” he said.

Why it matters for operators

For operators, the change links what they pay for a position to measured traffic rather than a flat rate agreed in advance. The use of postback data also means delivery is judged on the same click and conversion figures that operators already track in their own systems.

SlotCatalog has worked with casino operators for more than a decade. Alongside its affiliate business it runs a database of slot games, software providers and online casinos.
