Privacy policy

How Gamblita collects, uses and protects personal data, including newsletter sign-ups, webinar registrations and logs, and your rights.

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Gamblita collects, why we collect it, how we use it and the rights you have. In this policy, “Gamblita”, “we” and “us” mean the publisher of gamblita.com. We aim to collect as little personal data as we need.

Data we collect

Newsletter subscriptions. When you sign up to Gamblita Daily, the Weekly Briefing or Regulation Alerts, we collect your email address and the newsletters you have chosen. We use double opt-in: we send a confirmation email and only add you to a list once you confirm. We also record the date and time of your sign-up and confirmation so we can show you agreed.

Webinar registrations. If you register for a Gamblita webinar, we collect the details requested on the registration form, such as your name, email address, job title and company. Where a webinar is sponsored, the registration form will tell you if your details will be shared with the sponsor, and we will share them only where you have agreed.

Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep a record of the correspondence, for example for corrections or submitted news.

Server and security logs. Like most websites, our servers and security services record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. We use this to run the site, keep it secure and investigate problems.

How we use your data

  • To send the newsletters you have chosen
  • To manage webinar registrations and send related information
  • To reply to your emails and handle corrections, tips and submissions
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix technical problems
  • To meet our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising profiles.

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent for newsletters and, where relevant, sharing webinar details with sponsors. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests for security logs, running the site and replying to correspondence.
  • Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose data by law.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the site and our services. These include Cloudflare, which provides content delivery and security for gamblita.com and processes technical data such as IP addresses to protect the site from attacks. We also use providers to host the website and send emails. These providers process data only on our instructions and are required to protect it.

Some providers may process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy and our cookie policy. See our cookie policy for details.

How long we keep data

  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a suppression record of your email address so we do not contact you again by mistake.
  • Webinar data: for as long as needed to run the event and follow up, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Correspondence: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and keep a reasonable record.
  • Server and security logs: for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Restrict or object to how we use your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing

You can unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link in every email. For any other request, contact us. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK or the supervisory authority where you live.

Children

Gamblita is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to reduce the risk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell newsletter subscribers.
