VeliPlay, the game studio of VeliTech, has released The Last Channel, a comedy-themed instant game in which players help Grandpa flick through TV channels while he balances on a broken stool under a faulty light bulb.
Each successful channel switch moves a multiplier meter up one step. Players can cash out at any point, but push too far and an electric shock or a fall ends the round and wipes out the progress. The studio’s previous release was the crash title Chick’N’Fly.
How the game works
- Three difficulty modes: low, medium and high, with a teenager taking over the remote in the hardest setting.
- Reaching The Last Channel: completing 50, 35 or 25 steps, depending on the mode, ends the round and pays the level’s maximum multiplier, up to 1,288.96x the stake.
- Percussive maintenance bonus: a random bonus round asks players whether to stay safe or hit the TV. Hitting it either moves the player forward 3, 5, 7 or 10 steps or sends them back to the start.
- More than 20 channels: players flick through around 20 different TV channels during a round.
VeliPlay says all of its games are certified by the Malta Gaming Authority and that its titles perform well in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Volodymyr Dontsu, Head of Game Studios, said:
“Combining accessible step-and-cash-out play with an offbeat comedy theme, The Last Channel is an action-packed addition to the VeliPlay line-up that’s perfectly timed for Halloween. Featuring three difficulty levels, 20+ channels and an optional bonus round, the game sees Grandpa’s attempts to watch TV descend into complete chaos as players choose whether to take their prize or push on for multipliers of up to 1,288.96x!”
