Welcome to the first issue of Gamblita. Monthly, a free digital magazine on the business of iGaming and betting. Once a month we pick the story that mattered most and give it room, alongside the numbers, the regulation, the results, the deals and the people.
October’s cover story is Brazil. On 6 October every licensed betting and online casino site in the country went dark under Provisional Measure 1,394, less than two years after the regulated market opened. We follow the refunds, the cancelled R$30m licences, the hit to Entain, Flutter and Evolution, and the vote Congress must take by 23 November.
The second feature follows the fight over prediction markets in the United States, where the CFTC, 39 states, the NFL and 145 tribes are now arguing in front of the Supreme Court. Inside you will also find Q3 results in charts, regulation from London to Wellington, the £2.24bn Informa–Clarion deal, the month’s senior moves and the dates to keep.
