The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has selected Bede Gaming as the platform provider for BetSIGA, its own branded online gaming site. SIGA and Bede will design, build and launch BetSIGA, which will be available through a responsive website and dedicated iOS and Android apps.
The launch is targeted for spring 2027. BetSIGA will replace PlayNow, which SIGA has operated in Saskatchewan as the province’s only legally recognised online gaming platform since November 2022. Existing players will be migrated to the new site.
What BetSIGA will include
- The platform is built on open, modular technology and is designed to support data, loyalty and personalisation over time.
- It will connect online play with SIGA’s seven land-based casinos in Saskatchewan.
- Identity verification, geolocation, anti-money laundering, player protection and responsible gaming controls are built in.
- SIGA is a non-profit, and net profits go to First Nation communities, community development corporations and the provincial general revenue fund.
SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen said:
“BetSIGA is an important next step in SIGA’s long-term digital gaming strategy. This will be our own platform, built with a partner that shares our commitment to safe, responsible and engaging play, and it will continue to share success with revenue distributed to support First Nation communities and Saskatchewan.”
Colin Cole-Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Bede Gaming, said:
“This partnership extends far beyond technology implementation. It represents a significant opportunity to combine trusted technology, deep sector expertise and true operational collaboration. SIGA has a clear and ambitious vision for the future of gaming in Saskatchewan, and we are proud to support the team in building a connected digital ecosystem that will deliver exceptional player experiences and sustainable long-term value.”
Bede, part of the MERKUR GROUP, is already licensed by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority as well as regulators in Ontario and Alberta. Last month it renewed its platform deal with Sunbet in South Africa.
