Virtual sports studio Highlight Games says its proprietary platform has passed collaudo, the technical inspection run by Italy’s gambling regulator, ADM.

The approval, announced on 14 July 2026, means SOCCERBET, the company’s virtual football product built from archive LALIGA footage, can be delivered to Italian operators on Highlight’s own infrastructure rather than through a third-party platform. The studio says this includes its zero-cost streaming technology.

Operators are expected to move across to the new set-up over the coming months, and Highlight plans an Italian retail launch after the World Cup.

What collaudo involves

  • A technical inspection of any gaming system that connects to ADM’s central control infrastructure
  • Confirms that transactions, reporting and game data are handled as the specification requires
  • Tests systems rather than individual games, which are certified separately
  • Requires bets and outcomes to be reported to the state system in near real time

What the company said

Steven Holmes, chief executive of Highlight Games, said the studio “can now deliver that content on our own platform” in the form it was designed to be experienced.

About Highlight Games

Highlight Games was founded in 2014 and is based in London. It produces video-based virtual sports betting products using real archive footage, supplied to retail, online and mobile sportsbooks. It holds a UK Gambling Commission licence, number 045885-R-324794-008.

Why it matters

Italy has one of Europe’s more technically demanding certification regimes, because every connected system must feed data into the regulator’s central infrastructure. A supplier that passes collaudo with its own platform no longer depends on a third party to reach Italian operators, which can simplify integration and give it more control over how its content is streamed and priced.
