Kalamba Games has been granted a supplier licence in Denmark covering its video slots portfolio. The company announced the approval on 13 August 2026.

Denmark is the studio’s tenth market. Kalamba is already live in Brazil, Colombia, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.

John Cutler, chief commercial officer at Kalamba Games, described Denmark as “a highly respected regulated market”.

How Denmark licenses suppliers

Denmark’s supplier regime is run by Spillemyndigheden, the Danish Gambling Authority. The company’s announcement did not name the regulator.

Since 2025, Denmark has licensed suppliers directly, rather than placing responsibility for game content solely on the operators that carry it. Key features of the regime include:

  • B2B licences issued for a fixed term
  • A public list of licence holders published by the regulator
  • A duty on suppliers to notify the regulator of changes to ownership, technical platform or games

Why it matters

Direct supplier licensing has spread across European markets in recent years, and Denmark’s adoption of it means studios can no longer reach Danish players through operator licences alone. For Kalamba, the licence opens its slots to Danish operators and adds a second Nordic market alongside Sweden.

The ongoing notification duties also mean the studio will need to keep the regulator informed as its games and platform change, in addition to its existing obligations in other markets. Because the regulator publishes its licence holders, operators can confirm a supplier’s status before adding its games.
