UK slot studio 4ThePlayer has had three of its games certified for Alberta, with distribution to the province’s licensed operators handled by Relax Gaming and Gaming Realms.

The studio, based in North Shields, announced the certification on 14 July 2026. It said future releases will also be certified for Alberta and distributed through the same partners.

The certified titles

  • 4 Fantastic Lobsters
  • 4TP Pigs N’ Pots
  • 5 Flaming Dollars

Henry McLean, co-founder of 4ThePlayer, said the studio was “thrilled” to bring its “player-centric games to Alberta”.

Using two distribution partners gives the studio more than one route to Alberta’s operators from launch, and committing future releases to the same process means new games can follow without separate arrangements. The three certified titles give the studio an initial presence in the province while further games are prepared for certification.

The studio has not named the Alberta operators that will carry the games.

Certification versus licensing

The announcement refers to certification of the games, not an Alberta licence for the studio. The two are separate: certification confirms that a game meets the market’s technical requirements, while a licence is regulatory permission to operate. Because Relax Gaming and Gaming Realms hold the licensed positions in the supply chain, 4ThePlayer is unlikely to need its own Alberta licence to reach operators. Operators assessing a new supplier in the province will therefore look at the certification of each game and the licence status of the distributing partner.
